SmartSocial is excited to present our internship program for students ages 10-18.
This month's internship topic is all about AI!

These exciting projects (that discuss TikTok, Snapchat, video games, Instagram and other popular apps) will give students the chance to share their personal experiences and give our audience insight into the typical social media activity of teens and tweens. They might learn a few things about themselves and their own social media habits and even some new content creation skills in the process.
See what 4+ students say about our internship program:
A SmartSocial internship is a great addition to a student’s list of extracurriculars or resume and can fulfill required service hours with the approval of their school/organization.
At the end of each project, students will participate in a short interview with our staff and could be selected to be featured in our online courses and on our YouTube channel.
What is the SmartSocial Student Internship?
- Students explore personal social media habits, reflect on the pros and cons of social media usage, and get a chance to build new skills
- Bonus: A unique experience to add to a resume or college application
More about the program:
- Students participate in fun social media activities and have the opportunity to gain real-time insight into the positive and negative impacts of a wide range of online activities
- Internship participants will directly impact the work we do here at SmartSocial, providing IRL (in real life) insight into what students are really experiencing online.
- Our interns will gain skills and knowledge that will transform them into leaders and mentors in the world of digital citizenship (and they can positively influence their peers)
Who:
- Students going into 5th-12th grades, who are active online, use social media or play video games
- Students who are committed to completing a project over the course of 1-2 weeks
- Students who already are, or want to become better at, speaking on camera
What:
- Students are given 8-15 questions to present to their friends to get feedback on a topic
- Students will spend about 1-2 hours (per project) independently participating in a social media activity, taking notes on their findings, and will complete a survey after the activity
- Students will present their findings during a 30-60 minute interview with the SmartSocial team using their notes and post-activity survey
- Stand-out participants of this program may be invited back to participate in more internship projects
- Opportunities are limited, apply today
Why:
At SmartSocial we strive to provide students, parents and educators the most up-to-date and relevant information on the impact of social media. The goal of our student internship is to go right to the source (your students!) and gather information about student habits, gain insight into typical media usage, and fully explore the pros and cons of various media and gaming platforms.
Fill out this Google form to tell us you are interested! We will notify our chosen interns by email/text in 5-7 business days with instructions on how to get started:
